I'm currently working on designing a label for my 1st build...the label I'm referring to is just inside of the guitar body, visible through the sound hole.

Where do you get blank labels??? Are there any stock type labels availble. If not...then how do you make them...I'm handy with photoshop and CAD so designing one isn't the problem...I'm just clueless on the type of paper used and the printing process (injet??? Laser??? dye sub???)

Anyway...show us your labels and it would be great to hear how you made them (or had them made)...AND...possibly why you chose that design.

My wife and I designed mine using paintbrush, then transferred it to paintshop pro for the special effects. We printed them using a HP inkjet onto parchment paper that we found at the local office supply.

My owls actually look very good, exporting and converting the file corrupted the image. The owl is the same as the logo on my peghead.

Here is my inside the box label. I have two, the first is my name, the second is Stemwinder Guitars. My sister owns Stemwinder Custom Hats in OKC and my brother and sister own Stemwinder Custom Saddles as well. So I followed tradition.

Based on the label's above, I'll probably be spending a pretty decent amount of time on the computer creating one...the goodnews with that is...once the label is done...its like a good jig....you shouldn't have to rebuild it for a long time.

I have 3 variants of this label. They all have different scenes, one is a mountain full of trees, a farm (kind of the look of the midwest, where I am from), and the third is a craftsman in his shop. They aare all in this style of illustration.

Hey Brock, I'd like to see the other 2 variants. Don't think I've seen those...

I lean toward understatement with my labels. For classicals, which is what I build, I think a simple label works well.



I designed the label using WordPerfect. It is printed out on a 1200 dpi laser printer onto light gray high rag content linen stationery.

I prefer to write in the s/n and date rather than have the printer do it. I feel it gives a more personalized feel to do that.

On my higher end models, I will also add a small auxilliary label, between the 1st back brace and the Spanish "foot", with info stating "Built Especially for (name of client)." I use the same sort of border format, typeface, and paper for the second label.
